Turn your beloved family photos

into cherished family heirlooms.

How it Works:

1 Image selection and Planning. Connect with me by email or through my contact page. By discussing your desires for painting we will establish details like canvas size, composition and price, as well as to help me connect with the special energy of your project!

2 Beginning the Painting. I will email you a document detailing our discussed plans. Once everything looks good a deposit of half of the final price is due and the painting officially begins. Times will vary for each project.

3 Finalizing and Delivery. I will send an image of the finished work by email and you will have the chance for one round of revisions or input. Once the piece is approved the final payment is due. When the painting is dry it will be varnished (unless you request otherwise) and your beautiful new artwork will be securely shipped or delivered to you!

FAQ

How long does it take to commission a painting?

Times will vary for each project depending on factors like size and complexity as well as my current bookings. I aim to complete projects within 1 to 4 months. Depending on the complexity of revisions and the paint surface in general some work may take longer to dry before varnishing and shipping can occur. Please note the studio does slow down during the months of June, July and August as I am the mom of an amazing and neurodivergent school aged child.

How much does it cost?

My general guideline for pricing is a minimum rate/size of $200 for a 6x6" painting, plus $3 per additional square inch. For example a 16”x20” would be approximately $1,050 and an 18”x24” would be approximately $1,400. Rates may be higher for works that are very detailed or complex.

How do I chose a photo to work from?

The best photo is most likely the one that means the most to you! There’s a lot I can do with a photo that isn’t “perfect” but here are some things to consider for best results:
- Avoid images overly washed out by flash
- Look out for distortion, unless this is the look you are going for.
- Soft smiles or serene expression often work better than big huge smiles in paintings.

- Additional photo references can be helpful for portraiture, but not required, to help me get a feel for the subject’s personality and expressions,

Can you alter images or combine images?

Absolutely (mostly)! It will add some time, complexity and cost to our project but I like to think that everything is figureoutable, let’s talk about what you are looking to accomplish.

Simplifying backgrounds or omitting objects in the translation to canvas is much simpler and will not incur any extra fees.
